Sparrow are four
friends from Brighton and Cambridge who craft sad,
beautiful, thoughtful pop music.
Using natural, unprocessed sounds, resonant girl/boy harmonies and
hypnotic rhythmic arrangements,
Sparrow have developed a striking and unique sound. Challenging,
addictive, spacious yet warm,
Sparrow's music looks at the everyday things that go
uncelebrated in a cold modern world.
Having quickly established a reputation as a captivating live act,
Sparrow signed to the Numbskull HQ
imprint of the Total Creative Freedom record label. After a
highly sought-after limited first run,
their self-produced debut album 'Playtime' was given a full release
March 2011.
Following an appearance on the BBC Introducing Stage at Glastonbury
Festival, Sparrow's breakbeat
driven single ‘Secret’ entered the alternative itunes chart at number
28. The second single from 'Playtime'
'All of the things you were hoping for' was released November 13th
2011.
Sparrow's second album, titled 'However did the wolf get
in' was released May 20th 2012, preceeded
by free download single 'Beautiful'. The album's second single 'Move'
was released July 30th 2012.
